පළවෙනි කොරෝනා රැල්ලෙන් හෙම්බත්ව සිටි අපිට චාරිකාවක් යෑම ඉතාම අත්‍යාවශ්‍ය දෙයක් වුනා. අපි කිහිපදෙනෙක් එක්ව සෙම්බුවත්ත නැරඹීමට යාමට කතිකා කර ගත්තා. ඉන්පසුව සූදානම් කරගත් දිනයේ දී ආහාර පාන සහ අපට අවශ්‍ය වන සියලුම දේවල් සූදානම් කරගත් අප මහනුවර සිට මාතලේ බලා ගමන් ඇරඹුවා.
මාතලේ ප්‍රදාන බස් නැවතුම්පොළට පැමිණි අපට දැන ගන්නට ලැබුණේ සෙම්බුවත්ත දක්වා දිවෙන බස් රථය ගමන් නොකරන බවයි. නමුත් චාරිකාව කෙසේ හෝ යා යුතුයි යන අදහසින් සිටි අප උකුවෙල සිට ඇල්කඩුව දක්වා දිවෙන බස් රථයකට නැග ඇල්කඩුවට පැමිණ එතැන් සිට ත්‍රීරෝද රථ දෙකක් ඔස්සේ සෙම්බුවත්තට පැමිණියා.
ඉන්පසුව එහි මූලික පිවිසුමෙන් මුදල් ගෙවා ටිකට් පත්‍ර ලබා ගත් අප කෙමෙන් කෙමෙන් සෙම්බුවත්ත වැව කරා පියමනින්නට පටන් ගත්තා. ඒ අතරතුර අපි අතර කතා බහට ලක් වූ මූලිකම කාරණය වූයේ සෙම්බුවත්ත ලෙස මෙයට නම ලැබී ඇති අයුරුය . එය නම් , අතීතයේ මෙහි පිහිටා තිබූ ජල උල්පතකින් රන් සෙම්බුවක් මතුවී ඇති අතර එබැවින් මෙම ප්‍රදේශයට සෙම්බුවත්ත යන නම ලැබී ඇතිබවට ජනප්‍රවාද පවතින බවයි . පසුකලෙක එම ස්ථානයේ කෝවිලක් ඉදිකරවා ඇති අතර එම කෝවිලේ නටඹුන් මෙහි පැමිණෙන ඔබට දැකගත හැක.
මෙලෙස කතබහ කරමින් මෙම සුන්දර ස්ථානයේ විශේෂිත වූ තැනකට අපි පැමිණියා. එනම් සෙම්බුවත්ත වැවයි. මාතලේ දිස්තිරික්කයේ ඇල්කඩුව වැවිලි සමාගමට අයත් භූමි ප්‍රදේශයක පිහිටා ඇති මෙම ඉතාමත් රමණීය සෙම්බුවත්ත වැව ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ පමණක් නොව විදෙස් සංචාරකයින් අතරද ඉමහත් ප්‍රසිද්ධයක් උසුලයි . ඒවගේම මෙහි එන සංචාරකයන්ට බෝට්ටු සවාරියක් යෑමටද හැකියාව පවතී . එයට අවශ්‍ය ටිකට් පත්‍රද ලබාගත් අප බෝට්ටුවට නැග ගමන ආරම්භ කරා. මුලු වැව වටේටම ගමන් කොට මනරම් අත්දැකීමක් ලබාගත් අප බෝට්ටුවෙන් පිටතට පැමිණ නැවතත් වතුයාය ඔස්සේ ගමන් ඇරඹුවා .
තවද මෙම වතුයායේ අතීතය පිලිබදව තොරතුරු සෙවූ අපට දැනගන්නට ලැබුණේ , අතීතයේ මෙම ප්‍රදේශයේ තේ කම්හලක් පිහිටා තිබී ඇති අතර එයට විදුලිය සපයා ගැනීමේ අරමුණින් මෙම වැව නිර්මාණය කර ඇති නමුත් මේ වනවිට එම කම්‍හල වසා දමා ඇති බවයි .
වේලාව දහවල් 2ත් පසුවී ඇති නිසා අප දිවා ආහාරය ලබා ගත්තා . ඉන් අනතුරුව නැවතත් ගමන් ඇරඹූ අපට දක්නට ලැබුණේ වැවේ එක් පසෙකින් පිහිටා ඇති ෆයිනස් වනාන්තරයයි. අප අතර සිටි එක් අයෙකු මීට පෙර වරක් මෙහි පැමිණි ඇති අතර ඔහු පැවසූ අන්දමට ෆයිනස් ගස් අසලින් වැටී ඇති මාර්ගය ඔස්සේ ගියහොත් කැලෑබොක්ක අංශක 360 veiw point එක දක්වා දිවෙන මාර්ගයට යා හැකි බවයි. මෙම මාර්ගයේ කූඩැල්ලන් බහුල බැවින් ඒ පිළිබඳවද සැළකිලිමත්ව අප ඉහළට ගමන් කරා.
එම මාර්ගය ඔස්සේ පැමිණි අපි කැලෑබොක්ක අංශක 360 veiw point එක දක්වා දිවෙන මාර්ගයට පැමිණි අතර එම මාර්ගයේ ද සුලු දුරක් පැමිණි පසු කැලෑබොක්ක අංශක 360 veiw point එකට ආවා. එම ස්ථානයට ඉතාමත් සුන්දරව මුලු වටපිටාවම දැක ගැනීමට පුලුවන. මෙහිදී අපට මීදුම හේතුවෙන් අවට පැහැදිලිව දැකගත නොහැකි නමුත් මීදුම නොමැති වේලාවට මෙම මුදුනට මාතලේ,සෙම්බුවත්ත,නකල්ස් කදු පන්තිය,බතලේගල,මහනුවරත් රාත්‍රි කාලයට ශ්‍රී පාද අඩවියත් පෙනෙන බවට සදහන් වේ.
රාත්‍රීයත් කෙමෙන් කෙමෙන් ලගා වන නිසා වැඩිවෙලා නොසිට නැවත නිවෙස් බලා යෑමට ගමන් ඇරඹුවා . අපගේ මතකයන් අතර තවත් මතකයන් මෙසේ එකතුවිය.

We were eagerly waiting for a journey after 1st covid wave in Sri Lanka. We have decided go a trip to
Sembuwatte lake. After packing all the necessary needs including snacks, we have started our journey
from kandy to Matale. Unfortunately when we arrived at the main bus stop at Matale, we learned that
the bus from matale to sembuwatte was not running on that day. In that case we have chosen another route to reach our destination. First we boarded a bus which runs from Matale to Elkaduwa and thereafter we hired a three wheeler to reach Sebuwatte lake.
We paid for the tickets at the entrance. We slowly moved step by step towards to the sembuwatte lake. The first thing which came to our minds was “How this lake got its name?” Folk tales says that in the past there was a water spring and a golden pot was emerged from it. So this lake got that name. After few years a kovil was constructed there and the ruins of the kovil can be seen here.
While talking we reached to the heart of this area. Which is the lake. Sebuwatte lake is situated in a
land which belongs to the Elkaduwa plantation company. This attractive destination is popular among foreign visitors, not only among Sri Lankans. There are facilities to go on a boat trip with enjoying the beauty of the nature. Before a boat trip, you should pay and obtain the tickets for the boat trip from the main entrance.
After getting an amazing experience we end up the boat trip and went through the
estate. Furthermore we studied about this area and we were able to know that there was a tea factory in this area. This lake was designed for manufacturing current to the tea factory. But the factory has closed for few years. As time was passing we had our lunch. Thereafter we started our journey again through the Pinus forest which visible to lake area. There was a guy in our team who came this location before. We learned that
there is a footpath lies on the forest which goes to a much wide road which runs to 360 viewpoint in
Kalabokka. It should be concerned to protect from leeches. Leaches can be seen frequently in this
forestry area.
Through the road we reached to the 360 degrees view point locates in Kalabokka after passing a little
distance. The whole surrounding visible to the view point. Unfortunately the surrounded area was
covered with mist when we arrived to the top. So that we was not able to see the surroundings clearlybecause of that fog. It is said that Matale, Sembuwatte, Knuckles mount range, Bathalegala and Kandy area can be seen. As well as the Sripada mountain can be seen at night.
We didn’t stay there because the night wore on. We began our journey back to our homes. We earned lot of memories to our minds.
